I really do not know why I'm up this early... I went to bed early, after great dinner and two Mango Martinis... now I understand how and why I passed out! lol

I did my daily rounds of blog reading this a.m. and was over at one of my fav blogs... TheFashionBomb. Claire met up with Rihanna at the Margiela show in Paris yesterday.

*I love Margiela... I will cover this show later today... I know some site has the pics :)*

Anywho....
I heart Rih Rih's over sized Wayfarers. So you know I was on my hunt to see what brand they were....

Bey rocked them some months back... how could I let these pass me by????

After my search these babys' are Grey Ant.
So now I want two pairs of sunnies for the Winter!!!!
I'm taking up a collection... anyone want to donate??? lol

DOPE SHOOT: Supreme

Stylistos....

Japanese street wear magazine Cool Trans put together their seasonal editorial involving Supreme. The piece offers a stylized look into the collection as it encompasses a strong emphasis on outerwear and the winter-appropriate head wear offerings. The shoot was put together by some familiar names with styling done by Angelo Baque

Dope Shoot.
Varcity Varcity Varcity.... I love these jackets in the fall!!!

I like to see Street wear styled. It's fresh, it's fun, and inspiring.

I was introduced to Supreme a couple of years ago by mt sneaker friend Jason
There is a Supreme store in Soho on Layfette street. If you do not know about this brand... Lock in.

DOPE SHOOT: Solo in the City

I seen these pics of Solo and fell in love with this shoot. The vibrant colors and make-up choices- that Faux fur coat... GAG!!!!

Solo is definitely serving it on a platinum platter!

My bestie loves this necklace- can you blame her?? Regina I found you something similar.... I will keep looking for that excat nacklace boo :*
Shopbop.com
Anthropologie

I love the mixing of patterns, texture and prints!!!

It all works.

I love this shoot, becuase it's not like anyother editorial, however in all the shots, there is a Key "Must-Have" trend incorporated in her fit.

Leopard shoes, leggings (pop color), Fauz Fur, thigh high boots, statment necklaces, bold make-up, and chunky sweater.

This is one of the shoots that is actually giving me inspiration for my own photo shoot next month!!!

*I told you guys I had something brewing* lol

What do you think?

Bonkers for Balmain: #Paris Fashion Week

I woke up yesterday dreaming and wishing I was in Paris for fashion week!!
NY and Paris are the two big cities I want to be in for Fashion Week. It’s something about these two cities- Paris- sexy laid back and New York Loud and outrageous- two extremes experiencing fashion!!!

Popping!

But since I can not be in Paris- I whipped out my pics from the winter I was in Paris… and started to reminisce… I’m sooo planning a trip there this summer…

Anywho… back to fashion…
Fashion Week has started in Paris this week, Dior show was today- which I’m excited to see the pics- John Galliano is a fashion genius of out time… Just found out on Twitter Rih Rih was at that show... Rihannadaily.com will have pics of her posted in no time.

I also heard my fav style director is in attendance... Kate Lanphear.

Balmain was yesterday *i was there in spirit*- a favorite of mine this season- since the rising of the exaggerated shoulders worn by all of our fav celebrities; I've been on the prowl.

Christophe Decarnin has been a key influence this season and for next summer he took a step up, moving away from his 80s looks into tarnished military-style.

Check out some of the looks.

I love this collection- makes me think safari- sexy beast- the studs remind me of bullets… military jackets- tight cargo pants and lace up boots!!! FIYAH!!!!
Lace Boots are hot this season too... I've had my eyes on these- Givenchy- is a fantasy- but a Stylista can dream- cant she?

TopShop
Guess who is in Paris for Fashion Week??? Search.Style.Snap fav walking stylicious mannequin... Rihanna!!!

Decked out in Balmain front row at the show... Harem with Lace top and power shoulder blazer!!!
NIICCEE!!!!

I love the broach on her lapel. Ladies along with Jewelry- Broaches are key as well. Great way to play with your outwear- like a denim jacket, blazer... all great ways to apply a broach.

Side note: Zara has a black power shoulder blazer in their Fall assortment (Balmain inspired)- I'm trying to hunt one down- if you see one in Zara- I need a size small... hit me on the email!!! :)
Whats shaking this weekend? What do you guys plan on wearing? It's going to rain... but don't let the rain stop your styling!!!

"Green The Color of Hope"- Lagerfeld

Morning Stylistas....

Last week I explored the red color on my nails, now this week I want to try something new, something fierce, and also fashionable.

I was going thru this month's issue of Vogue yesterday and read this great article on the "Green Movement".

This is why I love this industry- especially behinds the scenes... It's amazing to see how beautiful clothing, fabrics, and colors evolve from something else. How Peter Philips (Global creative director of Chanel make-up) took Lagerfeld's Jade reactions and created a capsole collection of Jade nail polish called - The Jade collection ... Shown on the models on the Chanel Fall/Autumn 2009 Catwalk in Paris.

Imagine All Black everything with great green pop nails!!

Poppin!

I hear there is a waiting list already for the green hue... Wheeewww....

This highly anticipated hue drops on October 9th. I'm going to go down to Bloomies and get the word and put my name down on the list.

I love how High End makes the call of the trends and it trinkles down to the lower brands... not saying those lower brands are less important- but its a chain of command people!!! It's not coincidence at all!!!

Remember that scene in Devil Wears Prada when Miranda (Meryl Streep) ripped Andy (Anna Hathaway) a new asshole- when they were discussing the Cerulean Blue sweater she had on.... Same concept.
Watch it again here just in case you missed what that scene was all about the first time.

I'm going to try this hue and let you guys know how I like it!

What you think?

My Random Thoughts: A lil Change

So if you haven’t noticed- I’m switching the tone of my blog just a bit. I stopped signing every post with Style Reporter because I was starting to really feel like a reporter and I abandoned those journalistic dreams around sophomore year in college.

Maybe two months ago my BF posed the question to me… "what do you really want out of your blog?" and I finally know what I want… I want to use this blog to document of my fashion journey. Sort of like a fashion diary. Use my blog to help me figure out what I want to do in the enormous industry while sharing with you guys the latest trends I like, how you guys can look fabulous on a budget, how to style certain pieces, etc. I want this blog to be a FASHION blog. Chee's Fashion Blog!

I’m definitely going to be more personal, I want you guys to get to know me… and hopefully I’m interesting enough to attract others to join the reader circle. I want to interact with my readers… answer your questions… post what’s in my fashion mind… what’s hot from my POV… who style I like, what I found surfing the web, where to get certain items, learn about makeup... Shout outs to Keebs... I'm learning alot!!!... etc
I was reading a feature story that Beverly Smith wrote on http://www.21hustle.com/ where she says- everyone wants to be in fashion, wants to be a fashionista, they want to put outfits together, but a lot of these people do not know anything about fashion. It’s important to learn your craft, know the people in the industry, read and research. And that is what I want to use this blog for. I have a lot more learning to do.

I have a great eye, I have been in fashion since I received my working papers- I went from visual merchandiser at the Gap to doing PR for a designer, to working for Tommy Hilfiger doing licensing design, to working at Coach doing design development to where I’m at currently. (Sorry can’t reveal that right now- I'm still in fashion) but now its time I start to use all those skills I’ve acquired and knowleged I've gained to figure out what I want to be. I love this industry soo much I want to do it all- or at least find a space where I can incorporate all my skills.

I want my readers- even if its only 5 people who read Search.Style.Snap…. I want my readers to share this journey with me and I want to inspire yall. I want to hear what you guys have to say- see what you guys are wearing, what trends you like… which ones you don’t….

I love feedback and criticism… we can agree to disagree on a fashion tip… I love a good style debate!

Don’t worry fellas… I'mma try to do more post for you too….

So are you feeling my new approach?

Xoxo
